Black Friday Is On! Shop Best Deals in London
As every year, since the 50s in the USA and since 2010 in the UK, the big day is approaching fast. We need to prepare ourselves ahead of it and get ready to jump out of our starting blocks for one of the shoppers most popular shopping days – Black Friday – a feast for all fashion and shopping lovers. This year the shoppers’ special day falls on 24 November. On this day shoppers, in the USA mostly but more and more also in the UK, start their day really early in the morning to get the best deals in their favourite boutiques and stores. Everything that they have craved for but could not afford, they can now buy at incredibly and sometimes rediculously reduced prices. Ready to take part in this celebration with our ShopTrotter app in one hand and a big shopping bag in the other?
A few facts
‘Black Friday’ is the biggest shopping day of the year. So if you love bargains and you have been saving up for something really big, wait ’till the day and then go hunting. (More on how to survive it in this post).
‘Black Friday’ originates from Philadelphia, USA, and was ‘born’ in the early 1950s. Although the concept was created in the States over half of the century before, it came to the UK not long ago, that is in 2010. Since then it has been gaining on popularity really fast.
It is perhaps good to know that Black Friday is always followed by Cyber Monday (November 27th) which used to be a separate event in it’s own right until last year when it merely became an extension to the Black Friday weekend. On Cyber Monday you can get all IT, TV, video, computers, and many more tech gadgets you have been waiting for.

5 Essential ShopTrotter’s Tips for Surviving Black Friday
And before you set off for the shopping of your lifetime we have got a few tips for you which will help you survive this tiring day or even weekend!
Pack plenty of water and snacks! Let’s be honest – a thirsty, hungry shopper is a crabby and less-efficient shopper. Stay on your A-game by packing water and snacks in your purse.
Map out your route ahead of time with ShopTrotter (we will be posting an enormous list of stores’ offers soon! So stay tuned!). If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Make a PLAN with ShopTrotter.
Bring a companion. Why? Mostly for sanity purposes. Shopping alone is great. However, when it comes to Black Friday, you’ll appreciate having a friend by your side to laugh, joke and chat with you while you’re waiting in line for an hour!
Dress smart. Not so fast – this isn’t a free pass to wear sweatpants! But you SHOULD wear comfortable shoes, since you’ll be running from store-to-store all day. Keep the stilettos at home!
When all is found and purchased, get yourself a pedicure. Reward yourself. You deserve it! Trust us – after trying this once on Black Friday, it will forever be engrained into your Thanksgiving traditions!
